Well, it's been a little but of a letdown coming home. I got my hair cut. And no, I did not post a stupid youtube video, though my hair does look quite nice now. I don't think the showers in the Drake Passage really did it for me.
I am about ready to kill all the beavers in Tierra del Fuego myself after reading about 20 papers and writing a 6-page paper myself. So at least one problem down there is solved.
Visited my grandmother today. My mom's mother. That's always a treat. Well, first I went to the mall with my sister and mother. I am definitely from the wrong state. I could survive well enough without malls. Then, we drove down to my grandmother's and went out to dinner with her. It is always a treat to go out with her. She talks so loudly and so much and embarrasses the rest of us. (And we went to a Greek place and the waiter was a definite green light.) Good thing it didn't get busy until we left. I do miss being able to order a glass of wine with dinner, though. America is so backwards.
I did learn one interesting thing today: my great aunt married a black man. A white woman from upstate NY in the early half of the century going out with a black man. Major no-no. No wonder I never heard of this woman before.
Anyways, enjoying a nice glass of Torrontes and plotting how to eradicate beavers from TDF.
Sweet dreams.
